The Swiss explorer and speaker, Raphaël DOMJAN, initiated and completed the first circumnavigation of the globe powered by solar energy between September 2010 and May 2012 aboard the catamaran MS Tûranor PlanetSolar, the current Race for Water. In 2015, he completed the first solar-powered polar navigation in the Arctic Ocean.
He is the founder and pilot of the SolarStratos project, the first stratospheric plane. Raphaël Domjan is a glider, plane and helicopter pilot, mountaineer, diver and parachutist. He is a member of the New York Explorer Club as well as the Société des Explorateurs Français and today he has become an Ambassador for the Race for Water Foundation.
