Preparations for a month at sea.

A special stopover due to the political disturbances of the Solomon Islands (editor’s note: elections) has just ended for the Race for Water team who has set a course today for Indonesia.

A month of sea ahead of the bows of the catamaran captained now by Jean-Marc Normant who has taken over from Pascal Morizot. “We set off on Tuesday the 30th at 3pm local time from Honiara. The weather conditions are favourable, we started with a medium-strength wind, which was followed by a stronger downwind breeze, so encouraging us to get the kite out, though we are still unfamiliar with the current!” said Anne-Laure Le Duff, Second Captain.

While Christelle Brigeot-Mathieu was running a marathon to restock the holds of Race for Water on time and with the right quantities for a month at sea, the rest of the crew offered a workshop and received school visits, with 111 people welcomed on board during this brief stopover.
